What is the price difference between these two engines ?

I think most everyone would want more power, when given the choice, but if dollars come into play, you`ll get different answers.

Also, do you know the top speed with each engine ?

since you are selling the boats I'd likely package it with HO's as it will be a much easier sell IMO.

30 Outlaws with 525's are few and far between.

If you havent already, go make friends with the folks over at teambajamarine.net. Blake the owner is a great guy.

NP,

You know what they say. "There's no replacement for displacement." :D .............Unless Frank pulls up beside you at a red light with his Nova. :D :D

Well for mere longevity and cost of maintenance, I would go with the HO's.
We were told at the AC boat show, that w/reg maint you can get over 1000 hours on the 525s. If you run WFO all the time you wont, but keep 'er around 3600 and you're ok. The guy said that you may want to do a valve job ever few hundred hours, but that's it. IF they're that reliable, definately the 525s. Plus, this boat will be to play with not sell if my gut feeling is correct.

I gotta agree if you are looking to see what to fill your inventory with I would go with the 496's. If money was no object just get one with 600's. I am pretty sure they have only built one, but the all blue one they built recently went for between 200-250k which seems pretty pricey for a 30 foot boat. YOu can get a vice that will run 83 with 496's for less than that.

I went with 496's (non mags), as that alone was about 8,000 less than the HO's. In hindsight, I should have went with HO's, but I strongly believe that even with HO's you should have XR's and then your talking only 3-4mph difference. My boat would be hard to sell I think with non HO's, but for 105k (and it's loaded otherwise) out the door I feel it was well worth it, and happy at a proven and consistant 72mph on gps.
Hell, I love blue motors but don't think they are worth the money. Like they said above, if I was going to spend 200k on a 30footer, I'd buy a Vice.
Go with the HO's and save some serious money.

Hey R.J, why would you not buy a 30? They have like 10 cup holders ;)
