Sold mine a few years ago. 92 251 with a single 454 King Cobra. Great boat. Not the softest ride but decent and lits of room.

 

I boat with three of them. A 92 201 with a 454/330, a 92 221 with a 454/330 and a 94 221 with a 502/390. All three are immaculate.

I've been in the 92 221 several times. Not the fastest hull out there but they are like Cadillacs on the water. Built like a brick chithouse too!

 

I owned a 1988 211 with a 460 King Cobra from 1993 till 2000. Last three seasons with a 625 hp 540. One hellava ride . Real solid boat. Put enough power to them and they'll move

 

i had a 1998 211 i kept it for 15 years
boat was mint and rode awesome
it met an untimely death on i-75 2 days after i sold her
came completly off the trailer, with the new owner
going 65 mph...he said the boat literally passed him on the side of the road... even though i didn't own it any more i was heartbroken

I had a 1986 261 Liberator. When I bought it it had 350/ 260 with alphas. I repowered it 454/365 with bravos. I blue printed the bottom and installed large K-planes. I loved the boat. Not the fastest thing out there but it rode great.

 

Had my 251 for three years, nothing but good things to say about it!

 

I had a 87 241 with a 540..sold it to mildthunder

 

Here's mine. '88 241 with OMC and Ford 460.

 

I bought a brand new 1989 201 liberator right after I got out of college yellow and grey named it the Aquahaulic 350 mag king cobra built the motor she ran 62mph even had corsa captains call on it. I even had had it at the ocean 3 times and offshore in Stone harbor nj. The boat was a chick magnet. I drove that boat for 12 years and still runs strong and looks new the only thing i was able to wear out on the boat was the seats and I had them redone a year before I sold her. If that boat would of grown I would still have it

 

Did have a 1989 211 with 350 King Cobra. Nice boat for what I had paid. Pretty heavy wavebasher! Got just over 50 mph. With it. Good overall boat, not best build quality. LOTS better than my Rinker, not as good as my Chris Craft, NOT anywhere's near the quality of my PowerQuest. See if I can post some pics later from home

 

I had one. Loved the way the boat looked, but had problems with their first generation computer control. Traded it in on the Baja.

I had the liberty of running this boat- needed a lil tab, but was way cool to say the least!

 

also was able to run this one with 460's and cobras. VERY INTERESTING BOAT!

That is awesome. I thought of doing the to my 211 except use V6s before I replaced my 460 with a 540.
I liked the extra room in the cockpit and the twin power but chickened out when thinking about possible handling or balance problems. Plus I couldn't justify the cost when comparing to larger (already twns) boats .
I would like to know how it runs too.

 

My boat is exactally like the one Sunsation 98 has pictured 261 RED/BLACK except 350's and alphas. Mine also has those strange bolsters that look like they belong on the space shuttle :laugher: comfortable though and power. I think they were on 88/89's Glad to see that there are some out there. Not too many 261's in my neck of the woods. Haven't heard anything bad from any one that has owned one, except they are a little heavy. to be expected from a old style boat. I am building two conceritive sm blocks around 330 hp I would like to get into the low 60's or high 50's with this boat. any Idea what it should run? trying to be realistic with it and be relyable/ budgetable.

 

They are nice boats. I have an 85 211 with a 350 and an alpha. Nice boat for the money. It's for sale though. Time to move up!!!
