We all know where we are today with our boats. Let's see where we started. Post pics of your fist boat that you boat with your own money. I was proud of my 1982 24' Regal. I bought it for $2500 with a dual axle trailer and traded it in on my Liberator 2 years later for $4000, and I kept the trailer. Here she is.........she is still for sale at the marina.

I never got a picture of it, at least one I can find, but my FIRST boat was a 79 Glastron GT 150. Bought it for $400 with a trailer and needing a motor. I bought another boat that had a 90 HP merc on it for the motor. Put them together and ran it. Was fun for a summer.....that was about 16 years ago.

I was 12. It was (and is !!! I still have it after over 30 years!) a 1956 14' Crestliner with a closed bow. In my teenage-years, I put a 35hp Johnson on the back (that weighed more than I did) & was 'clocked' (pre-GPS) at 38 MPH by a friend in his Hydrastream. :laugher:
I'll dig out a photo & scan it some night but here's an ad slick....notice that 30 HP was the max; somehow I missed that in the fine-print! :winker:

1st boat at age 27, a 1994 18' Sea ray Bow Rider with a 350, 2nd boat, at age 35, a 1996 22' Wellcraft Scarab with a 454, later to be a 502...scary...sold it. age 37, 2001 26' Sonic Prowler with a 496HO,not as fast as the Scarab, but my girl can use the enclosed head in the middle of a 25 boat raft up and not loose any cool points. :D , plus I gain a few from her. :smile1: But then again she has a 1996 26' Scarab with a super charged 502 that whoops my butt, and its her first boat at age........did ya really think I was gonna tell ya? :sun1:

1st boat I bought with my own cash... 96 Baja Islander w/454 tied to a bravo. Still have her, still payin for her...

1st boat I could call my own was a little Toy my brother, father and I found (dad paid) 77 Browning Aerocraft Mustang 18 foot trihull. THAT BOAT WAS A BLAST. We had to convince mom that our 25 foot Ray was too heavy to tow thru the mountains to Maine, it worked, we got our little boat. (We would have had no problem getting the Ray to Maine, but dont tell her that). I was around 16 at the time.

1st boat I ever rode in / drove was my parents old seventy something dixie, I was two weeks old and that is the worst thing they could have done to me. Every time I get paid I spend it on my boat. NO MONEY IN THE BANK. ITS ALL THEIR FAULT

1st boat my parents bought for my bro and I when I was 14 I believe. It was a 12' DeSilva C&D Class raceboat. V-bottom w/ 40hp Merc short shaft w/ 2 blade stainless prop. Deadman's throttle. It was a lot of fun. Did about 60mph according to a 22 Pachanga that I ran side by side with. I have to find pics.

2nd what a 18.5' Beachcomber flat bottom(v-bottom) jetboat I bought when I was 19. 460 Ford, Berkeley Pump. Ran like 70 until my brother popped the motor and I had to sell it for peanuts.

Then got into jetskis for many years. Had several of those.

3rd was 97 Seadoo Speedster that I owned last summer. Man, was that a blast.

Current is 30 Spectre that I'm trying to sell to look for next boat.

Our First Boat,

We absolutely love it, and I hate the thoughts of parting with it, but with the little one on the way….

Maybe we can move up to something worthy of the company around here when the little one grows a bit...

1994 Regal Rush Jet Boat, 14'6" with a 90 horse Merc Sportjet.

I was 30 years old, and getting divorced, had to get to the lake cheap.

Had it for about 6 months, sold it, and bought a 19' Searay cuddy, sold that one for a $2000 profit after only using it once, and bought a 1974 Checkmate MX-15, restored that and sold it.

Moved to FL, and bought a 28 foot Rinker Cruiser from Cuda, I had big plans of cruising the Keys.......Never had time, so I traded it for current boat, 1992 Wellcraft 232 Eclipse. The Wellcraft is for sale at Best Offer, if anyone needs an inexpensive V-8 powerboat.

Here is the Jetboat
