I couldn't find that video, but that site is usually geared towards outboards...

There is no argument about outboards in tunnels! Same with V drive flat bottoms...Those boats are wicked!

This thread is about VEE bottomed microboats with OUTDRIVES!! Whole different animal...

OK.
New GPS speed:

78.8 mph

Yes, I am SLOWER than before. I am now running a bone stock 25" Mirage. I am spinning 5200 rpm, which is my goal. I guess I am out of the torque curve and lost speed. I`m very satisfied with the new prop though. My ultimate goal was to turn lower rpms at cruise at on top end. Upper 70`s is PLENTY fast for this boat.
With the old prop, the engine always sounded like it was working too hard and now it seems very docile while cruising along at 65 mph. It almost feels like I have an overdrive now...very different even though I just went from a labbed 23" to a stock 25".

BI - How are you doing with your boat tunin'?
Good so far,

Right now I'm running a labbed 28 BravoI. I've only gotten it up to 5100 rpm so far because of the chine walk. I don't know for sure if I had any motor left because I had to back off the throttle or else I would've made the 6 o clock news

I'm leaving for Oklahoma tonight so hopefully I'll find some decent water to run in...I'll be sure and let you know :D

28 at 5100rpm, hmmm. It's pullin a big prop.

I wonder if the prop is too big and the sterndrive is getting torque loaded. Meaning it's trying to pull up one side of the stern instead of pushing the boat forward?

Julie from 'Throttle Up' talks about this all the time.

Anyway - good luck, be careful, and let us know how it goes.

I let up on the throttle at 5100rpm....it may have made it to 5400 with the 28 had I been able to stay on the throttle longer.....

The 26 I ran went right up to 5500 but I found out all the cup had been removed from that prop which is why it had 13 percent slip.

I guess the other question may be if I'm better off going to the 1.36:1 gears so I can run a smaller prop??

Doug, I have found that I cannot run any type of prop that lifts the stern or my boat chine walks like crazy. I tried running a Turbo 1 and it lifted the whole boat out of the water too much and it started walking almost out of control. Did a back to back run with the stock Viper and the Viper(which has more rake) stuck the stern and lifted the bow and ran rock steady. Only problem is the Viper is too small and I over-rev. I am sticking with high rake 3 blades from now on. Not saying that's what's going on with your boat but it's a thought.
