The chine. The boat may not be very fast, you you won't find a better ride in a 20 footer anywhere. My Minx has a very good ride, but the F20 makes it feel like a steel wheeled wagon. :)

Some of that may be due to the fact the F20 weighs about a thousand pounds more.

CFM, I've got a write up about a 20' Monterey . I remember it was like black hull sides , very sleek looking . I'm going to try to find the article tonight , and scan the picture of the boat.

Fixed the video

Nothin' like log jumpin with a boat

I'd appreciate that write up.

I taled to and e-mailed the folks at Monterey a few times. They kept saying I had a bowrider and this and that and this and that. My last conversation with them they admited they had a big office fire years back that destroyed all the info on most of the older boats. My Hull ID" did nothing for them. :dead: The person I talked to a few times said everyone she talked to at the company said they weren't around when these boats where built and didn't know about it.

How many times do you have to say no when asked if a bowrider? :laugher: :laugher: :laugher:

They where nice though.

FLYING!!!

If you can make out the right column of the first page of what Mirage posted about CFM's boat, they talk about the airborne tendencies!!!

I believe CFM!! That boat must be an airplane wannabee!!

Allright, wife yelling at me to pack. We're heading to the Mexican Pacific coast tomorrow morning!! Zehuatenejo...
See y'all in a week! Memorial day on our lake is crazy. Too many boats and too many whackos. So, we leave!

Have fun this weekend everyone! Be careful of all the whackos out there!!

Blackhawk, spectra boats are well known for their solid heavy layup [ 1" at the keel ] , hence the US coast guard choice of the 24.6 model in 70's to patrol the california coast between LA & Catalina island .The 20' model for Parker and Havasu. It's a wave buster with four full length stringer system [2 x 12 inners , 2 X 8 outers. The only issue is the lack of functional window [ california styling issue :winker: ],so ducking is in order to avoid a shower when hitting a big wake :laugher: .Here you can see it's a quite big boat .

Wow that is a flat bottom! Sounds like they're built to take it though. I was asking cause the ride from a 20-21* to a 24* is pretty noticable.

I just can't see a 16* deadrise boat "slicing" through the waves! ;) Bet she's damn stable though!

4 adults and full of fuel - Damn, the writer should have taken it out with 1/4-1/2 tank and by himself or just one buddy. :laugher: :laugher: :laugher:

mirage257 - could you send me the article? It's hard to read it in full and I need a close up of the model ! :laugher: :laugher:

Thanks.

I'll do it right now.

They ran a 19" prop on the test boat - wow! No wonder it planed so fast.

Way back when my friend owned this boat, he added the 21" pitch and it picked up 4 mph on the speedo. I then added the Bowtie intake and it picked up another 4 mph or so. This was with 2 people. Each person makes ahuge difference in this boat.

With 2-3 people and average 1/2 tank mine runs 5100rpm with a 21" Quicksilver.
