Blackhawk , this boat [24' spectra ] can handle the same kind of rough as my 24 degree Mirage ;) .The big difference is the lower profile that won't save me from getting soaked when stuffing in a big one. I had 3 spectras and they all handle the rough extremely well , due to their layup. Since Spectra closed in 1980 ,there's none better in this class on the westcoast ,other than the Schiada , Hallett and Howard today. The hull bottom is "1" , sides are 3/8 , side decks are 1/2 thick . The 24's deck is cambered , has a "1" thick airex core between 3/8 glass on top ,1/8 below .You can have a dancing party on top of it. :laugher:

I assumed that CFM's was 16 degrees!! It looks like far less than that from the pictures..

Your off by a few degrees TOO MUCH !!!! :laugher: :laugher:

I found my angle finder last night and took the angle measurements. I am going to measure the width of this so called pad and I'll be right back with the info.

Ok here it is.

This 'Pad' if we can call it that is:

16 1/8" wide
Runs full length of running surface while maintaining the same width. It does not narrow until right when it makes the curve going up the bow.

It is 12 Degrees from Inner Strake to Inner Strake

The rest of the boat is 19 Degrees.
====================================

This things has a built in ramp !!! :laugher: :laugher:

2600lbs - and this pad. No wonder it responds to everything you throw at it.

Maybe I should put on aluminum exhaust manifolds, aluminum intake, and aluminum heads and lose more weight and up the HP.

Mine only moves upward.

If driving straight into the wind and you trim just a hair too much it starts to lift.

It seems what lifts this boat on water also lifts when air gets in their.

I'll figure it out - I have too - I can't leave motors stock. Not in my nature.

Very steady 70mph. No boat movement at all - seems planted. Yeh, I know, it was calm, but many boats at this speed are still movin around.

The boat runs faster in the chop . I'll try a Bravo 1 28 P in the future ,since I hit the rev limiter in a 1 foot chop with the 26 P props. The K planes contribute to the solid ride ,otherwise the boat start chine walking at wot with the tabs up all the way. I'm happy with the performance and wonder how it will do after removing the restrictors from the exh manifolds. I just turned over 40 hours on the engines ,so it may loosen up a bit more later

CFM , you'll be surprised :winker: = two 377's :bandit: .The drive combo may be spot on too. I have the Bravo 1 X drives with 1.65 ratio that allow the big props [ Bravo 1 15 1/4 X 26P ] turning 5100. Awesome engines and they'll find their way in many new boats. Saw the new 29' formulas equipped the same way as my boat. :D

It is a big boat as you can see next to my buddy's 33 Donzi .

Not very suprised, actually.

Very nice motors, especially in the shorter twin boats where the less weight helps.

You said exhaust restrictors, so I automatically assumed the 496's.

Merc put the restrictors in these too ,since 2001 :( .

I guess merc could have gone to 383 for more power :winker: . My acceleration is exhilirating [sp] though  .

It's only a .030" over bore away. Not much power in that.

But add AFR 190 Heads.
A little more cam
And, I'm sorry  750 Holley and Air Gap Intake

Whata' ya have?

400+hp
480 + ft/lbs torque

I'm sorry. Whenever I here stroked small block I can't help but want to do this to them.

The FI set up is nice for that combination.

CFM , these were brand new engines with smartcraft.
Warranty just ran out last month ,so all the gooey electronics will stay for a while :winker: . The first time of a major trouble , I'm converting back to carbs. So far I enjoy a very good fuel economy to boot. 3000 rpm yields 35 MPh , 6,5 gal/hr per engine on the smart crafts.
