bottom line is you have endless options, in order to narrow it down you have to set a budget and then see what boats are in that budget. Like daga said if you want a $600 payment go new, if you want a $300 payment go used.

BTW, they will go to 15 year on most of the boats your looking at.

Another benefit of used boats, you can have someone else spend the money on upgrades like HD steering, stereos, exhaust, etc...

I agree with you! Its not worth the $$$. Quite frankly, I dont care what motor is in the boat. BUT, since I am a "go fast guy" I would like to see some HP :rambo: I also dont want to get smoked on the lake :unhappy1: 502, HO, superchargers, this stuff sounds good to me :D Let me think, Hmmm, a supercharged Hammer! Would the boat even stay in the water?
Talk to Donman about that. :laugher:

Yes that is a great point! I'm just not a patient person. Some of the dealers I have talked with will give me close to retail for my Hammer and wholesale for new! I think I'm afraid of missing the " deal of the century" :angry1: I would rather buy used with mods already done.

Drugmoney - Is your hammer for sale yet? You should list it now because people are starting to look. It doesnt cost anything to put it in wantads and monkeyads. I think youre boat will sell easily local because its an inexpensive boat that will run in the high 60mph range. Trust me its a lot easier to shop when you have that cash in your hand and you dont have to worry about trades. Ive been looking to buy all fall and winter but couldnt pull the trigger on anything, now my boat is gonr I can seriously shop!

Sometimes I don't think you like me DonMan  B]

Nah, I LOVE YOU MAN ! :D :D
Hey, I don`t much money either (Why do you think I own a Hammer and not an Outlaw ?) :)

If you are all in it for the payment, a new boat may be the answer. Usually can get lower interest and longer financing.
But.....I say this with total sincerety. Buy a boat that you think will keep you happy for quite a while. If you try to trade it in 2-3 years, you will get hit hard on trade-in value.
That`s why I prefer USED. Somebody else has already taken the hit for you !

GOOD LUCK in whatever you decide ! :) :) :)

Taking the hit

I also have taken a hit quite a few times and now my last three boats have been used and at time of selling them I've came out pretty good. I've been lucky enough to by a very good hull and upgrade power and service the drive and electricals and had plenty of good times with very low maintenence.

TexasB. Where did you get the 540 from? Is it stock HP? I look forward to hearing about that 02. I'll be putting up the Hammer for sale in the next few days. What do you think would be a reasonable price gents? 20ish. Boats real clean!
