I had been fighting the boat all summer trying to find a prop it liked, then last time I had it out with a labbed Michigan 21 p something let go in the bottom I still haven't had time to tear it down but I'm thinking rod cap or bearing. Just really thought it should of ran in the mid to upper 60's or better? I definatly think that alpha is holding me back so I'm thinkin freshen the engine maybe a pro charger and definatly a bravo before it gets wet again I would like a nice honest 550 to 600 HP shouldn't be to hard w a little boost, I would really like to see 70 plus n this boat is that unlikely? Was just looking for some input I can't have the only one with a big block..

around here with a open bay with some with some chop and swells 55 is fast enough for us in this size of boat. win i started out i was just trying to anywhere in the 60s. i'm running 385 sbc w/vortec heads and emi thunder exhaust. sometimes wish i had went with a bbc to begin with when repowered boat late last year. but i'm thinking buying some 210 pro comp heads just so i can hit in the 60s, then i would be satisfied.

about building motors and stuff i'll wait for some more experienced peeps to chime in.

Great idea if it were as easy as changing plugs. You just KNOW it will go 4th of July weekend and it will be Labor Day before everything is converted over, Change it in the off season and be done with it.

You say you want 70, just for comparison a friend has a 91 242 LS / HP500 and can just squeeze 70 on a good day.

Well, with 425hp it did o.k. I just don't like the gearing in it. And I know once I rebuild my big block it will not hold up. I don't think by any means upgrading to a bravo is a waste of $$$... I want to see 70+ n this boat. If it don't work out this time I'll sell it and find one of thesr
