CFM invented the term and here is his definition :

"A Microboat (smaller boat) in this thread should be less than 23 ft in actual length (not counting swim platforms)- a V Hull and I/O (sterndrive) "

well I hate all performance boat terms these days, but I actually saw an old popular mechanics magazine that did a comparison test of a 22 donzi, villian, 21 scarab, 20 formula, and a 22 pachanga and they titled it "muscleboat". oh well better the "go fast"<-- that term sounds like something a 3 year old made up.

Yep, that is it!!!!!!!!!!
I can't count how many times I have heard "cigar boat".
That is why my Formula 242 LS is getting the name "NO CIGAR"

It will be funny to see the boat people who understand the difference get a chuckle out of it. :D :D :D

I'm guilty. as a kid I called them scarabs
you can't blame people, I mean how many times have you used a "xerox" machine even though It was made by some other manufacturer? :winker:

worst ever was some guy helping me dock compliment me saying "man you got a nice baja boat there" I said "ughh thanks" my wife turned red :angry1: and was just about ready to push him off the dock (she's not a baja fan :laugher: )

That is a great article. It also included a sidebar with the Stinger and Liberator. Now that is what I think needs to return. Small offshore boats that are fun and affordable. They all ran in the 50's for top speed and were relatively quick.

I have a bass boat :(
I have a Fishing Boat...Just ask my neighbor..

A lady down the street asked me if I went fishing :( , because she saw me drive by with the boat in tow past her house the other day... I politely said no, I don't fish with it, I just use it for water skiing and speeding around.. and then she goes OH,,, I thought you just fished with it..
:banghead:
Honestly, does my boat really look like a fishing boat..??

I've always been a little different. It can be hard to explain to some people why I own a boat that goes 70+ mph. Even harder to explain why I enjoy going fast. Those same people usually don't understand why I have a car that has 350+ hp and goes 0-60mph in less than 5 seconds. I also like the sound of a loud exhaust. My mom doesn't understand that one. I have learned to not waste my breath trying to explain it to people who just don't get it. I would much rather talk to people with the same sickness!
