Guys,

This isn't exactly a normal "speedwake" boat, but I ran across a 1998 Mariah Z300 Shabah that looks pretty nice.

Supposed to be about 5,750 lbs (according to nada)
30' including molded in swim platform
415hp 502 Mag Injected
Corsa Captains Call
Bravo 1
21" Stainless Mirage Plus Prop
Non stepped hull

Any speed estimates?

Anything good/bad about Mariah Boats (besides that the original company is out of business)?

I used to print the brochures for these boats, a shame to hear they closed shop. More of a Cadillac than a Corvette, but it still looks fast.

Thanks for the input!

I'm a printer and would be interested in talking about that more later, but about the Mariah.

In the early 90's Mariah made great boats that were rock solid. That Co. went out of business and someone else boat the name. The new owners put together crap! I haven't seen the 30 footer, but the 19-22 runabouts have poor fit and finish and are a "value" boat according to a dealer friend of mine. Go check out the hidden areas and see how it's built. Even a 29 fountain weighs 6500.

Not in printing at this moment, but would love to talk shop sometime if you send me a PM. I miss the smell of solvent in the mornings!

I think 98' was still the old company. They went defunct in 2001 if I remember right. The owners just up and closed shop one day, shocked the whole company (and their many employees).

I looked up the new company's website and "value boat" is written all over it! Yuck.

I'm guessing she is really closer to a 28 footer if you deduct for the molded in swim platform extention, which could explain some of the weight, plus I don't know if nada is on anyway.

I checked into one in the late 90s. It's a beautiful boat with a ton of interesting details. But it definitely was slow. 52mph tops. If it's high performance you want then it's not the boat for you but it definitely is a comfortable ride and looks good at the dock.
I would guess about 50-54 max as well, depending on load and conditions.

I have been looking for the 27' version of them. Here is what I can tell from the ones I have looked at, very nice build boat up to about 2000 then they had money troubles and then so did the quality of the boats.

I have a lot of problem with people tell me they are a great boat Blah blah .........They where a great boat HOWEVER the point is the offered a lifetime hull warranty and then went out of business so it means nothing. You are trying to sell me a boat with no support what so ever if I needed it.

I also notice all of them seem to have the stock 7.4 which is a nice motor but won't get yo any seed.
