Can you get one of the 12* flanged tip and rotated it so it's offset toward the header? Or does this have a quite thunder system or what ever there called on it? I don't see any bolts around the tips thats why I ask.

Tips were welded and connected with "Gates" exhaust hose without the wire on the two inbd pipes. Put the Trident hose with wire on the outboard pipes.
What a bit** to install!!
Splashed on the 20th.
Ran well except carbs were too small, guessing?
RPM's would go to 5K when the throttle was pushed up......but would roll back when the boat was getting up on speed with the RPM's.
So torque (I am guessing)was pushing the RPM's but the engine was unable to maintain that speed due to CFM.
Getting new carbs and trying again.

Anyone need a set of Holley 9022 800CFM DP carbs? :laugher:

Opie , I really hate to bring up the "S" word again but those couple hundred rpms you had momentarily could have been slippage of the props in the water till the boat speed caught up with the prop speed then they bit and you lost a few rpms.
I had a 17 outboard with a 200 Johnson (under a 150 cowl :D...upset more than one Merc owner  ). That would do the same thing. You could punch it at say 40 mph and break the prop loose and the back end would wiggle, As the speed iincreased , the prop would bite again and the back end would settle down and it would go...but I also lost a few R's when it grabbed ;)
Just a thought from the slippage expert :laugher: :laugher:

Its typical you remove the engines the boat drys and the exhaust outlets move around due to shrinkage or due you get shrinkage in the water and expansion in dry dock.
This boat sat for almost 2 summers before measuring the tips and c/l of the crankshaft.
I do agree with 1/2 inch movement.........maybe.....

BUT not ONE INCH!

Exhaust is done and I ended up putting vents on the valve covers to relieve pressure build-up in the crankcase.

Pressure was bad enough to push the oil out the dipstick.
have not had a chance to run since the valve cover vent/filters added.

Seems to have fixed the oil control problem.

Helps to not be over serviced by 2QTs of oil. Also the breathers allowed the oil to stay IN the pan instead of pushed out the dipstick.
Saw 80 solid @ 5200 RPM with full tank and 3 on board.

That's with the 28 Bravo-1 Rotating out.

Might get a wild hair to rotate in to see what happens.

Rotating in with the 25Mirage gained 1.5 MPH with the 330hp motors.

Problem is I won't see home for another week. It's getting too cold for pleasure trips.

I like 100 F. and lots of other boats around. That way if I break I have someone to tow me in. :laugher:

We will have to see how the season ends.
This year I will definatly winterize early!!!

NO MORE Cracked Blocks !!
