For the second time in my life I felt compelled to write a "Letter to the Editor".
This one relates to an article in the July Issue of Powerboat Magazine.
There's an article that appears on Page 54 entitled "Upper Hand" - by Matt Trulio.
Here's my letter:

I'm an avid reader of your magazine and one of the things I enjoy about your magazine is the accuracy and balance of your articles.
I just finished reading your July Issue and have to comment that I'm disappointed that you allowed the "Upper Hand" article on Page 54 to slip though without a little more editing.
The article begins: "The Bravo XR is rated to handle 550 hp, and anything more pushes its limits". It goes on to say "Failure might not be imminent, but is inevitable".
-------------------------------------------------------------------
You know....people actually believe this stuff when they read it and it's how incorrect information seems to get started.
I see this kind of stuff start on my forum and I nip it in the bud and it's important for authoritative magazines such as yours to not propagate mis-information such as this.
The fact is that this is not true and Mercury Racing recommends this drive for their 575SC Motor - which of course makes more than 550 HP and it's failure is "not inevitable".
Thanks,
Jeffrey J. Jennings
