I am planning on adding a M1 procharger 3.5 pound kit to 1999 Donzi 22ZX. I would like to know if I will have to remove my thermostat housing and thermostat? I also want to know if I only run 3.5 pounds of boost if I need to upgrade my fuel system? When installing the oil line for the blowe is it possible to do it without removing the oil pan? Also my electric engine hatch is right in the way of the blower, best way to relocate it? I also wanted to know how much clearence I need in front of motor, I do not have much room. Also please post pics of installed prochargers on 454/502 mag engines I would like to see how other have done it. Thanks Bill

I installed a procharger 2 years ago on my 25 ft. checkmate. I have the 454 mag efi mp. First, get the M1-sc procharger the sc stands for self contained, which means no oil lines. It carries its own supply of oil. In the kit for your boat you get everything you need to do the job, but if room is tight get the remote mount kit. this lets you put the intercooler almost anywhere you want. I had to do this with mine, I didn't have enough room to mount the intercooler on the front of the engine. your kit will come with a new thermostat housing, and no you don't run a stat. It also has a cross over tube, so you have to take off the water pump. You will also get a electric fuel pump and a fuel pressure regulator. You will have to move the power steering pump to the other side of the motor. (not a big deal) there is also some issues with the fuel pump that should be addressed. again not a big deal. Last, you should get your computer reprogramed, I would go with Arizonia Speed and marine for that. It will cost about $300 and worth every penny. I don't have any pics of my install for you to see, but could get some latter this spring. I would be happy to help you if you need it.

The m1 kit with the AW-324 engine mounted intercooler extends 2.5" beyond the front of the power steering pulley. The AW-504 intercooler = 4.25"

The 8 rib crank pulley extends 1.625" beyond front of stock pulley. (12 rib = 2.125)

The 3.5 kit doesn't require fuel pump upgrade, but you do have to modify the regulator.

Yes it's possible to install the oil drain line without removing the oil pan.

This info is for the 7.4 MPI (350p/380csHP)
and the 454 MPI (385p/415cs HP) at 3.5 psi boost

The only difference with the 502 MPI (415p/445csHP)
is the fuel pump upgrade comes with the kit
