We are suppose to go up on Saturday the 25th but right now the weather isn't looking good.

Would love to be around but I won't. I might have the boat up to Munising after 8/24. We have wedding to go to that day in Marquette and I am trying to convince my better half to take the boat up with us and do pictured rocks after the wedding. We shall see what happens

 

You guys camp? Hotel? Cabin?
Still not sure what / where I'll be looking to stay when I FINALLY get to make my trip to Torch (next year hopefully) Appreciate any tips!!

 

We camp. Others in our group stay at a few hotels.
Try White Water Township park for camping.
For hotels try the casino on 72. There are very few hotels in Elk Rapids.

 

THANKS much. A co-worker mentioned he rented a place with a dock on Torch. Small hotel or cabin...Ring any bells?

Are you guys camping at Whitewater? That's where we put in.

 

Try Torch River resort...near sand bar at south end of lake.

 

Yes, we are. Its a great ramp for the boat and motor home and the sites are good size. I keep the boat in the water so I dont have to keep moving the camper.

It is a great launch. Weather is looking better for Saturday so hopefully I will see you up there!

 

Well, we made it back and in one piece. Sort of. The weather was good to great and only a few issues with rigs and boats. Saw alot of new stuff and made it thru the Soo locks. But now its over and need to get back to work. That sucks.
Met Blackhawk at Elk. Nice people and nice equipment. We need to get more people together some day.
