Not sure what you should buy it for, but check out the history on that era D-max, it was about that time they had over heating issues... Dieselplace.com can give you ALOT of info on that generation motor!!! I have an 06 D-max and LOVE it!!!

Injectors on the early motors, overheating on the later motors. If I recall it was around the 2004-2004.5 time frame that the motor changed adn that became the new issue.

2001-2004----LB7

2004-2005----LLY

2006-2007.5----LBZ

2007.5----LMM

Later motors over heating, no, it may have been an LLY, but I do not consider that later. :) For some reason I thought it was towards the end of the run of the LB&, but again, could be the LLY... Definately something to look into though... I consider the LBZ and LMM later, so we could be just off in our terminology... :)

Look up the NADA wholesale value and subtract 20% from it and you'll have the real trade in value.

Any amount offered to you over that figure by a dealer is an over-trade......

Which means you paid too much for whatever you're buying!

What is the trade in value and what should it sell for.
I am looking at a 2003 Chevy ext. cab short box, 4x4 diesel, 61000 miles. HD 3/4 ton.

Give me a call and maybe I can get you a better deal on the truck your looking for. Just a suggestion. :winker:

Injectors on the Lb7 from what I remember, overheating on the LLy.

I didn't know there was an LBZ.
