Steve,

So that's what the guts look like under there? I'm itching like a bad rash of poison ivy to get mine out.

I go to where its stored once every couple of weeks just to look and sit in it and have an adult beverage. :laugher:

This weather has been rough to say the least. Lakes are up and so is the trash floating around in the water.
Hate to risk something happening even if i did get out.

You might of pick a good time to tear yours down buddy.
You still have my number? I could call you to get an address to see how far it is from Dayton
I been truck shopping lately to get ready for hauling that moster around.
Shack,
I go sit in mine have have beers too. It is bonding time! We will need to get together this summer!

steve,

looks like yours has side exh. without the blisters. how did you route the hoses and what did you use for material.
thanks ed
Ed,
Yes I do have side hull exhaust. The original exhaust was made out of fiberglass, but it cracked and started to leak. So last winter I fabricated the new exhaust in a plated steel. I had them powder coated on the outside and as much of the inside as possible. I had no leaks or other problems last summer. I was going to take them apart this winter to see if there is any rust in the inside, but never got around to it. I wanted to do them in stainless steel, but the pipes cost too much. The first picture is the new rough fabricated exhaust sitting ontop of the old exhaust. The second picture is the of the new exhaust installed. Let me know if you want more pics!

9k for that? It looks like crap. I guess mine should be at 25k then.....
I paid significantly less than that for my Libby...with a 502...

Not sure why you'd want to do that...but at least it's a good conversation piece... :D

LOL, yeah. It's, well, different, that's for sure. Can't argue with that, certainly can't say it's not one-of-a-kind.

My boat looks nice but was a mechanical cluster F when I purchased it, and I'm still sorting that out...actually mostly the wiring was jacked, it looked like a 4th grade science project so I ripped it all out and re-wired it all from the fuse panel. Along with some sort of dead rodent clogging all the drainage which had me pretty freaked out for a bit there...thanks to some help here (and great pictures!!!, compliments of Stevem_GR) that crisis was averted.

I stole the boat, guy said he couldn't give it away in Virginia, so I drove about 550 miles to get it...

Slowly getting there, I'd hoped for Memorial weekend, but that isn't looking promising at this point. We'll see.

Steve;
Looks like all I will have to do is put a U joint in the rubber line and remove the exhaust boxes from the sides.just have other projects that I have to get done before the boat.225hrs. on a 1988 boat and its like a lot are saying now, its just a place to take a break and dream.

I bought my boat pretty cheap in the middle of the winter without even starting the engines AND it was sitting on the second level of rack storage. My wife was not to happy with the purchase, but it has turned out to be great boat and a blast to drive (241 w/twin 350 Mags). I was thinking about selling it, but the prices have dropped and I really am not in the position to buy what I really want. So as of now, I plan on keeping it and enjoying what I have. I took the day off today to start putting it back together. I hope to make some great progress!

Steve,
What kind of speeds do you see out of your 241 with twins? Just wondering if those ran with the 261 twins with BB's, growing up my father had a 261 with 454's and it was damn near a 70mph boat....but that was before GPS so who really knows. In that boat you could get SB's or twin ford or chevy BB's. I know the chevy's were faster than the ford because my uncle had the exact same boat with fords, and by dad always gave him crap about it. Not much faster, just enough for some razzing :)

The 241's I would assume are a 60-64mph boat but don't really know...

I've seen 62mph on a GPS. I have different props now, but I gave the GPS back. It is definately a handful to drive.

I updated starting price of $13,500... And am always willing to consider an offer...:)
Hey, the right person comes along that appreciates it, you may get it. It's way better to start high then have the first person that comes along offer you cash for the amount of your asking price...then you'll really regret it! It makes me miss my 87 211, after that you get to deal with OMC like I am doing now....

What people don't understand, that' I've learned the hard way, is you may find one that looks like a steal for $9000, but you end up putting 5k and a lot of headache in it, then all of a sudden it looks pretty good to have one thats all done. Trust me I've done it....on the boat in my profile actually...at least when it's done it will be exactly the way I want it (or at least that's what I'm going to tell myself...) :D

Unfortunately most people need to learn the hard way once, or twice like me... :(

Very nice boat jvthundercat! If I was in the market it would be on my list.

brivander, have things worked out better for you today?
