575's have throttle bodies, thus you can fog via the TB and is similar to carb.
Well the opinion of all you wizards so far is that I should be fine doing it as I described.
BUT, keep the opinions coming. . . . .

THANKS to all that have replied or intend to do so.

I have found my engine and exhaust to hold about 4-5 gallons total. 454ci. But after warming the engine on the garden hose once you start sucking in the 50/50 mix it does alright in the exhaust manifold but the block still only circulates in a small amout of water. Thus diluting the 50/50 mixture. If your not going to drain it I would mix the glycol on the heavy side say 70/30. I run 50/50 through mine and then I drain everything. So I usually end up with more than I started with :( But the freeze protection that comes out of the exhaust after 5-6 gallons is like 5 degrees.

I would have to say you will be fine though because I had a gallon jug in the garage last winter with just a tiny amout of glycol in it maybe 10-20% And when it was like 5 degrees out I picked up the jug and the stuff was just a little slushy no where near frozen to break anything and cause damage.

you boys would be mighty surprised to pull a sample out of the block drain plug and test for how good it is its often almost pure water the BEST way is to drain the water first period. and don,t use the green stuff the pink is fine once you drain the water the old running the engine trick is russian roulette its also good to drain the blocks as sediment builds up on the bottom of the block so use a drill bit and make sure the block hole drains completely if you pay to have it done this is the only correct way! when your done spray the entire engine with WD40 it keeps them looking new for years and don,t fog efis they will often hydro lock

Exactly.

I don't know why something so simple get's so hard.
Drain EVERYTHING, make sure it's drained, and then fill.
Oh well.

Please re-read my inital post and thus you will see why I am asking this question.

My method works the best!

You can forget about everything you just read...
I have a 3 step process that works every year!

Step 1: "Hello, Mr. boat mechanic? You can do it today?"

Step 2: Drop boat off

Step 3: Pay above boat mechanic

:D :D

BEST insurance I buy all year!!

I used the pink antifreeze.... hopefully I won't kill any tree huggers with my method???

I use the pink stuff because it is safe. But my son came around the corner on his quad and hit my drain bucket and spilled it ,I don't know if it is safe or not it killed all my grass were it spilled

I agree.

They always smile and make you feel like a brother until you tell them they fugged up and you get the "two finger deal."

Two finger deal is this:
" One hand help up with middle finger up."

"Other hand with index finger pointing to the street."

:laugher: :laugher: :laugher: :laugher: :laugher:

Yeah - I know  Hopefully we won't go there...

At least if HE breaks it, I can blame him. I'd rather beat him up than myself! :D :D

I'll at least sleep well over the winter.
:)
Now that is the correct attitude for sure...... Hey you are right in that you can at least blame someone else huh :laugher: :laugher: :laugher:
